In the quiet town of Wadowice, in the foothills of Beskidy Mountains you will find a house that, during the last quarter of a century, became a destination of pilgrimages and excursions from around the world. This house, insignificant in itself, became part of history, as a place of birth of John Paul II, who was elected the first non-Italian Pope in 456 years, and the youngest to become Pope in this century.

Conveniently located next door to this famous house, and wheelchair accessible, is Café Galicja. It is just steps from Wadowice's main square and the Basilica. Galicja's well-designed interior is complemented by a secluded patio-garden with several tables protected by a large umbrella.

For larger groups additional sitting area is available in Galicja's beautifully decorated cellar. This space is particularly comfortable on hot summer days.

Whether you are just passing through Wadowice, or staying for a while, we invite you to Café Galicja to try our delicious desserts and coffee or tea.
